Main Objective:

Embark on a journey with us at the 3ZERO House, a global initiative spearheaded by Acted NGO. Our mission? To create a world defined by Zero Carbon emissions, Zero Exclusion, and Zero Poverty. As an Intern, you’ll play a pivotal role in facilitating partnerships, driving innovation, and accelerating initiatives aimed at tackling environmental and societal challenges. Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth research on climate change, waste management, biodiversity, and related issues in Kenya.
  • Identify key actors and potential partnerships to enhance collaboration and impact.
  • Craft compelling social media posts and written materials backed by factual insights.

Event Management:

  • Collaborate on event concept development and planning.
  • Maintain event planning tables, ensuring progress tracking and adherence to deadlines.
  • Assist in pre, during, and post-event communications, including social media and blog posts.

Communications:

  • Contribute to the social media content calendar and content plan.
  • Generate high-quality content for social media platforms under the guidance of the Communications & Advocacy Officer.
  • Support in gathering visuals, data, and information for reports and blog pieces.

Internal & External Coordination:

  • Aid in setting up and coordinating internal and external meetings.
  • Assist in meeting preparation by conducting research and preparing briefing documents.
  • Document meeting proceedings and disseminate minutes effectively.

Fundraising:

  • Contribute to proposal development through research, editing, and idea generation.
  • Undertake any other related activities as assigned by the line manager.

Required Profile:

Are you the ideal candidate for this role? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, climate change, sustainable development, communications, marketing, business administration, social enterprise, or related field (Master’s degree is advantageous).
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) with excellent communication skills.
  • A deep-seated passion for climate change and environmental issues.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a basic understanding of business and finance.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office; graphic design abilities are a plus.
  • Relevant experience in developing partnerships, event planning, and team collaboration.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and eager to learn.
