JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Location: Nairobi (Kikuyu)

Salary: Ksh 50,000-55,000

Our client, a prominent logistics and distribution company, seeks to onboard a skilled Junior Accountant. We are in search of a candidate with at least 3 years of experience in accounts receivables and payables, particularly within the FMCG industry, with a specialization in distribution. The ideal applicant will also possess proficiency in stock management and bank reconciliations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Daily Revenue Reconciliation: Ensure all daily revenues are reconciled, verifying balances against receipts.
  2. Document Management: Create and maintain backup documents for cancellation, dummy credit, and journal upload activities.
  3. Supplier Queries: Address supplier queries regarding invoices and payments in a timely manner.
  4. Vendor Account Reconciliation: Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and associated transactions.
  5. Monthly Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy.
  6. Work Verification: Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  7. Invoice Verification: Verify invoices against contract terms and other agreements.
  8. Vendor File Maintenance: Maintain vendor/supplier files and monitor accounts to ensure payments are current.
  9. Accounts Receivable Accuracy: Ensure accuracy of accounts receivable information impacting financial statements.
  10. Monthly Reporting: Provide timely and accurate monthly reports including revenue and accruals, along with debtor analysis.
  11. Debt Management: Reconcile and manage accounts receivable, ensuring outstanding debt balances are accurate and maintained at acceptable levels.
  12. Invoice Preparation: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of customer invoices for goods supplied and services rendered, addressing billing queries promptly.
  13. Account Monitoring: Continuously monitor company accounts and balances to ensure payments and transactions are up-to-date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • CPA Part II or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of related working experience in the Accounts function.
  • Proficiency in Navision software.
  • High integrity and honesty.
  • Accurate, efficient, and organized within daily responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
