Procurement Officer (1) Position

Key Responsibilities

Support in Policy Development: Collaborate in the development and implementation of procurement policies, procedures, and strategies to optimize the procurement process, ensuring efficiency and compliance.

Strategic Planning: Prepare comprehensive plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies, aligning procurement activities with organizational goals and budgetary constraints.

Product Evaluation: Review, compare, analyze, and approve products and services to be purchased, ensuring quality, suitability, and cost-effectiveness.

Inventory Management: Oversee inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records, facilitating informed decision-making and cost control measures.

Supplier Management: Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, and product ranges, fostering strong relationships and ensuring reliable procurement channels.

Value Optimization: Ensure that all services and goods procured demonstrate value for money, maximizing resource utilization and enhancing operational efficiency.

Qualification & Competencies Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field from a recognized University.
  • Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Over 3 years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Membership of a professional procurement body.
