Position Type: Full-Time; Flexible

Salary Range: $40,000 – $55,000 USD

We are seeking a dedicated Africa Campaigner to spearhead our efforts across the continent.

Summary

As the Africa Campaigner, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our campaign for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty in Africa. Working closely with our global team, you will lead advocacy efforts, engage with policymakers, and mobilize diverse stakeholders to champion our cause. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of Africa Campaigns & Advocacy to advance the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty initiative in Africa.
  • Advocate for policy change by engaging with policymakers and government officials across the continent.
  • Coordinate project logistics and support African partners participating in key global events.
  • Cultivate relationships with diverse movements and civil society organizations to amplify our message.
  • Secure endorsements from cities and subnational governments to build momentum for the Treaty proposal.
  • Expand our network of African Champions and high-profile supporters to enhance campaign visibility.
  • Support public communications efforts, including social media campaigns and traditional media outreach.
  • Assist in grant applications and fundraising activities to strengthen our capacity in Africa.

Experience and Attributes

Required:

  • Passion for climate justice and a commitment to phasing out fossil fuels.
  • 2+ years of experience in campaigning or network organizing.
  • Strong project management skills, with a focus on events coordination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive mindset.
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive and anti-racist organizational culture.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and collaborate with a global team.
