Position Overview:

Options Consultancy Services Ltd, a partner in the FCDO funded DESIP programme, is seeking a Consultant with expertise in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Family Planning to guide the revision of Kenya’s 6th Edition National Family Planning Guidelines (2018). The consultant will play a crucial role in incorporating current evidence-based practices into the guidelines, aligning them with global standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct a Comprehensive Review: Evaluate the existing 6th Edition National Family Planning guidelines (2018) and identify areas for enhancement based on current evidence-based practices.
  2. Incorporate Global Standards: Ensure that revised guidelines align with the latest global standards and guidelines for Family Planning services.
  3. Engage Stakeholders: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health and relevant agencies, to gather insights and feedback for guideline improvement.
  4. Develop Revised Guidelines: Utilize expertise in SRH and Family Planning to draft revised guidelines that reflect best practices and address emerging needs.
  5. Ensure Accessibility: Ensure that the revised guidelines are accessible and user-friendly for healthcare providers and stakeholders across Kenya.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Master’s Degree: Hold a minimum Master’s degree in a health-related field.
  • Experience: Demonstrate experience in public health programs, preferably in SRH, with knowledge of Kenya’s National Reproductive and Maternal Health programs.
  • Guideline Development: Showcase previous experience in developing standards and guidelines in reproductive health.
  • Consultancy Experience: Prior experience in consultancy roles with governmental or international health agencies.
  • MOH Knowledge: Familiarity with MOH systems or experience collaborating with Ministry of Health officials.
  • Immediate Availability: Available to commence work immediately.
