Summary:

DanChurchAid (DCA) is seeking an enthusiastic Kenyan National for an internship position as a Data Analysis & Reporting Assistant. This one-year internship based in Nairobi involves occasional fieldwork and reports directly to the MEAL Coordinator. The successful candidate will support DCA and its partners in implementing dynamic data analytics to enhance program quality, generate evidence of impact, and promote organizational learning.

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & MEAL:

• Assist in data collection, cleaning, and quality control processes.
• Collaborate with DCA and partner staff to develop M&E systems and baseline assessments.
• Aid in the research and revision of data collection tools.
• Support the review and development of data tracking tools and impact analyses.
• Analyze data to provide evidence for results measurement and clearer demonstration of outcomes.
• Assist in reviewing and providing feedback on program/project reports.

Data Quality, Use and Sharing:

• Support the development of MEAL plans and M&E tools for both current and upcoming projects.
• Compile data to contribute to strategic decision-making, knowledge management, and program planning.
• Assist in data-driven storytelling and communication efforts.
• Aid in planning, implementing, and following up on monitoring visits to track progress and provide feedback.
• Provide data/evidence-based support for DCA and partner strategy and reflection/learning events.
• Support project staff in updating electronic filing systems.

Required Qualifications:

• University degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proficiency in digital data gathering software (e.g., ActivityInfo, Kobo Toolbox), data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft PowerBI), and data analysis software (e.g., Stata, SPSS, R).
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights and support others in doing the same.
• Willingness to learn and ability to travel.
• Politically and culturally sensitive with patience, tact, and diplomacy.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
