Position Overview: Environment Graphic Artist (Project Hire, 6 months)

Are you passionate about creating immersive game environments that tell compelling stories? That’s No Moon Entertainment is looking for an experienced Environment Graphic Artist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to bring life to grounded, detailed worlds and set new standards in environmental storytelling.

As an Environment Graphic Artist, you will collaborate with narrative, art, and gameplay teams to craft a wide array of graphic elements and visual developments, from initial concepts to final artwork. Your creativity and expertise will help push the boundaries of realism, beauty, gameplay, and storytelling in our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and Inspiration: Collaborate with Art Directors and Environment Leads to collect and organize references and inspirations.
  • Concept Development: Create initial sketches and thumbnails to explore visual designs for the game world.
  • Graphic Creation: Work closely with the Environment and Outsource teams to develop and implement graphics, logos, and in-world brands.
  • Polishing Assets: Use paint overs, redlines, and call-outs of screenshots and 3D renders to refine game assets.
  • Visual Fidelity: Ensure that visual development aligns with the story, gameplay, and art pillars.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the Environment Concept Lead and other departments to define, implement, and execute the artistic vision.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in professional games or film concept design, with a focus on graphic design.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing designs with a distinct identity and purpose across various styles.
  • Art Theory: Proficiency in traditional art theory, including composition, lighting, color, value, and shape language.
  • Typography and Iconography: Strong understanding of typography and iconography.
  • Design Knowledge: Knowledge of architecture and industrial design, with a passion for creating grounded designs.
  • Workflow Efficiency: Ability to develop and execute efficient reference, color keys, and concept management workflows.
  • Bonus Skills: Experience with AAA game development, 3D programs (Maya, ZBrush, Blender, Substance Painter), use of photos, scans, and 3D assets in concept art, and familiarity with PBR engines and materials.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Pay Range: $85,000 – $115,000 annually, determined by industry benchmarks, location, experience, and specific skills.

  • Project Hire Position: This is a temporary project hire position with eligibility for various TNM benefit plans.
