Founded by a group of committed Kenyans, Lwala builds the capacity of rural communities to advance their own comprehensive well-being. We support communities to design, implement, and evaluate solutions to their most pressing health challenges. Then, we build coalitions of communities, Health Workers, Government, and universities to generate evidence of impact and infuse these insights into the formal health system in Kenya and beyond. This bottom-up change promises holistic solutions that are custom-built for the systems they are meant to reform.
Job Summary
Lwala seeks the service of a highly motivated and technically skilled ICT Assistant who will be responsible for providing comprehensive support for the ICT infrastructure and network across all offices. The person will offer onsite and offsite support to the satellite offices. He/she will work with users to ensure smooth operation maximizing network functionality and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
Duties and Responsibilities: ICT Assistant
- Provide Support: Offer support to satellite offices in implementing corrective and preventive ICT solutions for day-to-day operations.
- Install and Maintain: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all network equipment, including computers, peripherals, and accessories.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance on IT equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- IT Support: Provide proactive and reactive IT support to LCA end-users, improving network functionality, and resolving technical issues.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with office management to maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets and consumables.
- Training: Deliver effective training to LCA colleagues on the use of network and computer peripherals.
- Reporting: Assist in generating reports for the IT department to track performance and identify trends.
- Infrastructure Integrity: Safeguard the integrity of the network, database, and file storage infrastructure.
- Security Measures: Manage user access and administer appropriate security measures.
- Communication Systems: Maintain reliable internal and external communication systems in satellite offices.
- Monitoring: Actively monitor all IT equipment and infrastructure components.
- Procurement Support: Assist with the procurement of hardware, software, and IT support services.
- Technology Solutions: Identify technology gaps within the organization and propose relevant solutions.
- Needs Assessment: Work with various satellite offices to identify their technological needs and requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Certification in Networking (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate – CCNA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
