Position Overview
The Laboratory Manager will oversee the operations of a research laboratory supporting a longitudinal study on the impacts of extended-spectrum cephalosporin-resistant Enterobacterales (ESCrE) colonization. The role involves managing laboratory teams, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining laboratory safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of samples.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures, including using control strains and regular process reviews.
- Sample Management: Develop and manage systems for sample collection, handling, and tracking to ensure data integrity.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of laboratory technicians, coordinating activities to meet project timelines and deliverables.
- Safety Protocols: Enforce laboratory safety and biosecurity protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Equipment Management: Manage laboratory equipment, supplies, and inventory, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

Qualifications

- Quality Management: Expertise in laboratory quality management systems, including ISO 15189 or other relevant accreditations.
- Biosafety: In-depth knowledge of biosafety and biosecurity protocols, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Project Management: Experience in developing and implementing workflows, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and data management software.
- Data Management: Familiarity with electronic data capture systems (e.g., REDCap) and experience in data analysis and reporting.
