The Mayors Migration Council (MMC) is a dynamic coalition empowering cities to lead on migration issues globally. The Position

Join our team as the City Engagement and Partnerships Lead and be instrumental in shaping engagement strategies with our Leadership Board mayors and forging partnerships with key stakeholders. You will work closely with city networks, UN agencies, research institutions, and organizations led by migrants and refugees to advance our mission. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will collaborate with program leads and team members to drive impactful change.


Key Responsibilities

City Engagement

  • Develop innovative engagement strategies with the MMC’s Leadership Board, including leadership standards and alumni networks.
  • Manage relationships with Leadership Board mayors, coordinating meetings and managing recruitment of new members.
  • Strengthen relationships with MMC mayors and city officials through outreach and regular engagement efforts.
  • Navigate mayoral transitions and political instability, offering insights and recommendations to the Executive Director.

Partnership Management

  • Develop and execute a partnership strategy, setting and tracking annual engagement goals.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing and potential partners, including UN agencies and migrant-led organizations.
  • Oversee administration of partnership agreements to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Governance and Executive Support

  • Oversee operations of the MMC Governing Board, including member engagement and meeting organization.
  • Accompany the Executive Director or represent MMC at high-level meetings with mayors and other VIPs.
  • Lead planning and execution of MMC’s annual meetings and special events.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in public policy, political affairs, or related fields, with a preference for city government experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in planning and managing high-level events.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English required.
  • Proficiency in governance board management and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills.
  • Genuine passion for MMC’s mission and flexibility to travel internationally.

Benefits

  • Pay Range: $100,000-130,000 for New York City, commensurate options for other global locations.
