Introduction
Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is a State Corporation with a noble mandate established under the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act No. 47 of 2013. Our mission is to conserve and manage national parks, sanctuaries, and wildlife in Kenya while enforcing related laws and regulations. As a crucial component of national security, we also play a pivotal role in combating insecurity and counter-terrorism initiatives.
About the Positions
In light of the increasing challenges in wildlife protection, KWS is embarking on a recruitment drive to onboard 1,500 vibrant individuals to serve as Cadets (Assistant Warden I) and Rangers. These roles require individuals who can endure rigorous training and are passionate about wildlife conservation.
1. CADETS (ASSISTANT WARDEN I) – KWS JOB GRADE “9” – 100 POSTS
Job Requirements:
- Must be a citizen of Kenya.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2nd class honors lower division in relevant fields such as Wildlife Management, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science, among others.
- Age limit: 28 years and below.
- Good health and physique.
- Clean criminal record.
- Successful candidates will undergo nine (9) months of mandatory paramilitary training.

2. RANGERS – KWS JOB GRADE “15” – 900 POSTS
Job Requirements:
- Must be a citizen of Kenya.
- Hold a Kenya National Identity Card/Passport.
- Must hail from the County of recruitment.
- Minimum mean grade of “D” (Plain) in KCSE examination or its equivalent.
- Age limit: Between 18 and 26 years.
- Physically and medically fit.
- Clean criminal record.
- Successful candidates will undergo six (6) months of mandatory paramilitary training.

- Present the filled application form and attachments at the recruitment center during the specified dates.
Recruitment Dates, Time & Venues:
Recruitment exercises will take place from April 15th to April 19th, 2024, at various venues across different counties.
