As an Independent Contractor, you can set your hours, but availability during normal business hours is essential.

Job Responsibilities

As a Virtual Bookkeeper at BELAY, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

Financial Management:
- Pay client bills weekly
- Reconcile bank statements
- Manage budgets and cash flow
Reporting and Data Entry:
- Perform journal and data entry (coding)
- Provide clients with weekly and monthly reports, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and budget vs. actuals
- Prepare custom reports as required
Account Management:
- Maintain and manage the chart of accounts
- Reconcile debit/credit cards
- Prepare 1099s
Payroll and E-Commerce Support:
- Process payroll, including set-up and scheduling
- Provide support for e-commerce activities
- Assist with tax filing

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professional Experience: At least 0-5 years of prior accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of QuickBooks (both desktop and online versions)

Essential Tools Needed:

Home office setup
Computer with webcam
Smartphone with email capabilities and push notifications
High-speed internet access
Current version of QuickBooks installed on your home PC
