This role offers the flexibility to work from your home office, providing essential bookkeeping services to our diverse clientele. As an Independent Contractor, you can set your hours, but availability during normal business hours is essential.

Job Responsibilities

As a Virtual Bookkeeper at BELAY, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Financial Management:
    • Pay client bills weekly
    • Reconcile bank statements
    • Manage budgets and cash flow
  • Reporting and Data Entry:
    • Perform journal and data entry (coding)
    • Provide clients with weekly and monthly reports, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and budget vs. actuals
    • Prepare custom reports as required
  • Account Management:
    • Maintain and manage the chart of accounts
    • Reconcile debit/credit cards
    • Prepare 1099s
  • Payroll and E-Commerce Support:
    • Process payroll, including set-up and scheduling
    • Provide support for e-commerce activities
    • Assist with tax filing

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional Experience: At least 0-5 years of prior accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
  • Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of QuickBooks (both desktop and online versions)

Essential Tools Needed:

  • Home office setup
  • Computer with webcam
  • Smartphone with email capabilities and push notifications
  • High-speed internet access
  • Current version of QuickBooks installed on your home PC
