Job Overview

The Violence Prevention and Response Technical Unit (VPRU) provides crucial support to IRC’s country offices on protection programming, ensuring innovation, promotion of standards, and improvements for all protection programming. As a VPRU MEAL Specialist, you will independently manage and implement MEAL systems for a portfolio of protection technical projects. Additionally, you will contribute to wider VPRU learning strategies, guidance, and activities.

Major Responsibilities

  1. Provide Ongoing Direct Technical Support to VPRU Projects
    • Lead and manage MEAL activities for a portfolio of VPRU-led grants.
    • Develop overarching project learning plans and approaches.
    • Provide training and capacity building in MEAL core competencies.
    • Adapt and refine MEAL approaches based on feedback.
  2. Support Broader Learning Strategies, Guidance, and Resources for VPRU
    • Provide ad hoc support to other VPRU team members for MEAL-related tasks.
    • Assist in the development of intervention-specific data toolkits and learning agendas.
    • Contribute to the creation of core MEAL guidance and resources for VPRU teams.
    • Actively contribute to MEAL technical sections of business development.
    • Represent VPRU MEAL on external platforms.
    • Contribute to VPRU’s anti-racism commitments.

Job Requirements

  • Strong experience with data collection and analysis for multiple MEAL methods.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Fluency in English required, additional IRC languages a plus.

Working Environment

Based in an IRC office with standard office work environment and occasional international travel up to 25%. This role may require remote work, and applicants must have an effective home workspace.
