Position Overview:

As the Head of Administration & Facilities Management Division, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic direction and leadership in managing the operation of administrative and facilities services. Your efforts will align with AU’s strategic objectives, ensuring quality service delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and programs aligned with AU Policy Organs Decisions.
  • Execute divisional strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Maintain a positive work environment, manage budgets, and ensure project performance and quality.

Team Management:

  • Lead and supervise employees, addressing employee relations and enhancing their skills.
  • Ensure effective management and supervision, fostering a culture of collaboration and information sharing.

Operational Excellence:

  • Plan and monitor day-to-day operations for facilities, administrative, and fleet management.
  • Manage budgets, review cost estimates, and ensure compliance with organizational strategies.
  • Coordinate disposal of assets, evaluate operational procedures, and apply continuous improvement practices.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across divisions, departments, and offices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Engineering, Facilities, or Operations Management.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience, with 7 years at managerial level and 3 years at supervisory level.
  • Experience in facilities management, engineering, and operations management.
  • Exposure to international organizations and public sector is advantageous.
  • Certification in strategic organizational development, project management, or related fields is a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in any of the AU working languages (Arabic, English, French, and Portuguese).
  • Experience in managing diverse teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other standard software.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and deliver results within tight deadlines.

Tenure of Appointment: The appointment will be made on a regular term contract for a period of three (3) years, renewable based on performance.
