Job Summary
As the Information Management Officer, you will serve as the focal point for all information systems, overseeing data collection, collation, management, and analysis. You’ll support the County government of Baringo in implementing and utilizing these systems, aligning with regional and international standards. Your role is pivotal in supporting assessments, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, advocacy, and business development efforts.
Purpose
Humanitarian and development operations rely heavily on data and information management services to identify, analyze, and address the needs of affected populations. Your role will involve analyzing, documenting, and developing Information Management Systems and Practices for Baringo County, optimizing their information management regimes. Additionally, you’ll support various sectors within ACF in enhancing Information Management practices.
Essential Job Duties
1. Information Management Practice Analysis (30%)
- Analyze and understand Baringo County’s Information Management Practices.
- Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements based on industry best practices.
2. Information Management Practice Re-Engineering (40%)
- Develop an Information Management system for Baringo County based on the analysis.
- Oversee the implementation and development of Information Management Protocols.
3. Reporting (20%)
- Document Information Management Strategies and Protocols for Baringo County.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and iterate improvements.
4. Other Key Duties (10%)
- Liaise with Information Management and MEAL staff for data gathering.
- Develop data collection tools and facilitate training sessions.
- Create infographics, maps, dashboards, and reports.
- Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops related to ACF activities.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in databases, mapping, visualization, with a focus on web and mobile technologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- ICT proficiency with MS Office and other computer applications.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with National/County Departments.
- Experience with data visualization & GIS tools.
- Knowledge of USAID grants.
- Understanding of humanitarian standards and codes.
