Summary:

Join Light Up Hope on a mission to illuminate paths out of poverty for impoverished students and communities in Kenya. As a Programme Assistant – School Feeding, you’ll play a pivotal role in implementing our School Feeding program, fostering hope and brighter futures. This full-time contract position based in Kajiado County offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while supporting educational and health interventions. Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Programme Implementation

  • Design and Strategy: Collaborate on program implementation strategies, ensuring efficiency and accountability.
  • Beneficiary Selection: Assist in mapping and selecting school feeding beneficiaries.
  • Policy Support: Contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures guiding the School Feeding Program.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Organize stakeholders’ meetings and foster strong community relationships.
  • Information Management: Collect, organize, and maintain data related to the school feeding program.

Reporting, Monitoring, and Evaluation

  • Report Writing: Contribute to various reports to track program progress and inform decision-making.
  • Data Management: Maintain beneficiaries’ database and conduct regular school monitoring visits.
  • Impact Documentation: Participate in documenting program change and impact stories.
  • Community Data Collection: Assist in data collection activities for needs assessments and impact assessments.

Stakeholder and Community Engagement

  • Stakeholder Management: Engage stakeholders at the school and community levels, promoting program policies and procedures.
  • Relationship Building: Nurture strong relationships with schools and community stakeholders.
  • Participation: Actively participate in stakeholders’ coordination meetings and forums.

Accountability and Code of Conduct

  • Adherence: Follow the organization’s code of conduct and promote its standards.
  • Community Engagement: Facilitate meaningful community engagement and consultations.
  • Child Safeguarding: Uphold child safeguarding and protection principles at all times.

Job Specification:

Education, Qualifications & Experience Required

  • University Diploma or Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a related field, with progressively responsible roles.
  • Valid motorcycle riding license and willingness to ride as needed.
  • Detail-oriented with proficiency in data collection and reporting systems.
  • Proficiency in Maa language is advantageous.
